I Didn’t Release a Book Last Year, and I’m Not Releasing One This Year Either!
by
No new books since 2024. In the world of YA publishing, that’s almost like being dead. But I’m not dead. Not even on the inside, usually. I just…took a break.
It didn’t feel like a break, as I’ve been steadily working on things, but the schedule does what the schedule is going to do. I had books move, and then I added one, and before I knew it, well, here I am.
I’ve been in this game long enough now to keep from panicking–also I’ve transferred my panic energy away from publishing toward other things, like, when I think my cat looks disappointed by something or, when I open my phone. I’m going to be honest with you: I have hustle energy for very little these days. I have entered my hustle-free era. My only goals now are to celebrate the small, good things. A reader who sends me a kind message. Or when my teenage Doberman sees another dog and doesn’t immediately begin to wail like a sea lion.
BUT! I do have new books coming, and I am VERY excited about them and cannot wait to see them moving along and becoming all rectangular and full of paper. The first is called THE STOLEN QUEEN and will release on August 24, 2027. Then I have another in 2028 (should be announced soon) and another one, also in 2028.
See? It’s like, I’m dead, I’m dead, I’m dead, and then BOOM! Three books, and you’ll only wish I was.
More soon, like The Stolen Queen cover (and what it’s about); and the secret project announcement. If you want to stay current on all this stuff and some bonus giveaways and behind the scenes things, sign up for my newsletter. I sent like, two a year one time. This year I bet I’ll send…well actually I do have a Halloween book giveaway planned for subscribers. So, I’ll send one for sure.
